Welcome to Team 10K :)
Starting Wednesday 10th April 2024
This programme is for new and improving runners and run-walkers looking to step up to their first 10k. Maybe you’re brand new to running, or you've completed a beginners 5km programme and are looking for the next stage, or you've done a few parkruns and fancy a bit more, or are returning to running after a break and want to get back into it safely. There will be a 'running' group and a 'run-walking' group each week with slightly different sessions, catering to all abilities.
The programme is FREE to members of Clapham Chasers. To join the club, please sign up via the website via this event. Information ahead of each session will be shared via the Facebook page & on a WhatsApp group, which you'll be able to join as a Clapham Chasers member. If you're not a member yet but would like to try it out, you're welcome at the first session for a free taster. Membership is a bargain £23 a year (without EA affiliation)!
The WhatsApp group will be used to stay in touch more easily with members once the programme starts.
The target 10k race is on Saturday 15th June in Battersea Park (further details to follow), where you'll be paced and cheered on by our merry band of Team 10k volunteers.
Because consistency is key to running success you'll need to be available for at least 5 of the 10 weeks and this will give you the best preparation for the graduation 10k at the end of the programme. We meet outside the Millennium Arena in Battersea Park on Wednesday's for a 7:15 pm start.
Each week you'll be treated to a dynamic warm up, technical drills, awesome session & cool down, all focused on you building your skill set, running economy and enjoyment.
If you have any questions regarding any aspect of the Team 10k programme, please get in touch with your Team 10K Captains at running.chasers@gmail.com.

Another London Summer... another wonderful Wimbledon Trail Series It's the 10th anniversary, so let's see if we can make this a special one
The races start at 19:00 and are on the 1st Wed of the month in May/June/July.
Usually lots of Chasers at these great little events (and typically some sort of evening social afterwards TBC).
Race2 Entry £16 https://www.goodrunguide.co.uk/RaceDetails.asp?RaceID=31947
" Good Run Guide brings you the 10th anniversary edition of the Wednesday evening trail race series. The first 2 races are 5 miles each long and the 3rd about 8 miles and are loosely based on one of our recommended running routes through scenic and sometimes challenging parts of Wimbledon Common. They start at the iconic windmill and offer a mixture of adventure, fun and challenge all set within the lovely Wimbledon Common and completely traffic free. However, conveniently, there is a large free car park at the start.
Each finisher receives a mug, chocolate bar and fruit. There are series and individual medals/prizes. "

The only Category A Fell Race in London! The John Clarke Memorial Fell Race is a 5km race with 250m/820ft elevation near Epping Forest on Friday 21st June, hosted by Orion Harriers.
Entry is £5 via SPOND, with refreshments after at their clubhouse after. Apparently it's low key, so a good intro to Fell Running or chance to say you have done a fell race in London! https://www.orionharriers.com/fixtures/fell-race/

Let's see if we can get a little group together for this trail running festival again. We had a great time last year. Amazing scenery, amazing running, bands, DJ's, Yoga, talks, coffee.. dancing, fancy dress, surfing. Running pub crawls! You name it. The summer is short in this country...if we get it at all! So make the most of it!

If you don't want to camp a few of the girls upgraded to a Yurt and shared that. I heard it was good.
Will add a Whatsapp group link if it gathers a bit of momentum. I think early bird tickets go up in price on the 26th of January. It's about £240 which isn't too bad for what you get at a 4 day Festival.
Just hope I'll be running by then!
