Who is Team 10k for?
This programme is for new and improving runners and run-walkers looking to step up to their first 10k. Maybe you’re brand new to running, or you've completed a beginners 5km programme and are looking for the next stage, or you've done a few parkruns and fancy a bit more, or are returning to running after a break and want to get back into it safely. We will split into different speed groups so you're running or run-walking with people around your pace.
How much does it cost?
Team 10k is run by volunteers. To sign up costs £24 which covers the cost of your end of programme 10k race (in Battersea Park, Sunday 22nd June). We also provide expert Chaser Pacers to guide you towards your goal time on the day!
You will also need to join Clapham Chasers to participate. To join the club, please sign up via the website. If you're not a member yet but would like to try it out, you're welcome at the first session for a free taster. Membership is a bargain £25 for the year (without England Athletics affiliation).
The WhatsApp group will be used to stay in touch more easily with members once the programme starts.
When are the sessions & how does it work?
We meet outside the Battersea Park track on Wednesdays at 7:15pm. Consistency is key to running success so you'll need to be available for at least 5 of the 10 weeks and this will give you the best preparation for the graduation 10k at the end of the programme.
Each week you'll be treated to a dynamic warm up, technical drills, awesome run or run-walk session & cool down, all focused on you building your confidence, ability and enjoyment of running. In addition to the Wednesday sessions, there will be 2 other recommended runs for you to complete each week, for you to do at your leisure.
This year we will also host a mid-programme social on a non-running evening so you can get to know everyone outside of the sessions too.
