Sunday Long Run

We meet for the Sunday Long Run at a variety of locations. The 2018 winter/spring schedule of long runs can be seen on the table below. 

Generally the long run will start at 9am but this may change from week to week. Please keep an eye on the facebook page for details of each run. 

There are also regular trail runs going out on Sundays - the details for these will also be posted on the facebook page but the planned dates are below.

There will not usually be anywhere suitable to store bags and other kit so please only bring what you can carry on the run. A small running pack or race vest is advised.

We usually operate 5 to 6 pace groups but this is flexible and depends on the turnout at each run. Pace groups will be arranged to suit the ability of each runner.

Group 1 - Sub 3:00 marathon, long run pace from 6:45 - 7:30m/m
Group 2 - 3:15 target marathon, long run pace from 7:30 - 8:45m/m
Group 3 - 3:30 target marathon, long run pace from 8:15 - 9:00m/m
Group 4 - 3:45 target marathon, long run pace from 8:45 - 9:45m/m
Group 5 - 4:00 target marathon, long run pace from 9:30 - 10:00m/m
Group 6 - 4:00+ target marathon, long run pace from 9:30m/m +

Please note that while the route will be explained at the pre-run briefing, it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the route prior to doing the long run. If you are unsure of the route or think you may get lost, you are advised to carry a map or smartphone. Bringing a payment method for public transport or taxi is also recommended.
